Jan van Wijngaarden (1932 -2020) was educated at the Kunstnijverheidsschool in Amsterdam and established himself as one of the most prominent illustrators and graphic designers in the Netherlands. After years of teaching he set up his own studio and worked as a graphic designer, photographer, and most of all, illustrator. Specializing in landscapes and nature illustrations he worked for major national and international publishers and advertisement agencies. His carreer spanned more then six decades.
